Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine combines R&B, soul gospel and jazz in his signature style. She's performed on Broadway as well as at the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. The real name of Sunshine is Denise White. Even though she lives in Atlanta now, Sunshine is from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she started out as a musician singing and playing at the local church. She studied at Spellman College and began to master the R&B style that is popular in Atlanta. The Fighting Temptations The first single with her vocals was called Stalk You a house 12 issued exclusively in Japan and has since been remixed by numerous producers and is an essential part of her live set. The Fighting Temptations was the other soundtrack she sang on. She was named the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning performer) was approached for an opportunity to be the choir conductor for Dreamgirls in Atlanta for the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention due to her several performances throughout the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was chosen to perform at Obama's inaugural ceremony in 2009.
