Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shchenko is an Kyrgyzstani Muay Thy fighter. She competes currently within the UFC Flyweight division. She is also the older sister of the former UFC Flyweight champion and the fellow UFC fighter Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko started her journey into combat sports as a Muay Thai boxer. Shevchenko made her debut in the IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals via a majority decision. Antonina kept her winning streak going by getting bronze and silver medals in 2007 and 2008 respectively, and a gold medal in 2011 and the year-end 2016 IFMA amateur Muay thai world champion. Antonia began her professional journey in 2003, and she took home an award at the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012. She also won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016 as well as the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships in 2016. Antonina was most recently seen battling Isa TIDBLAD Keskikangas during The Phoenix Fighting Championship. She was victorious by unanimity. Antonina shevchenko won her debut professional MMA fight in 2002 with Anara bayanova in the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan. She won the fight via second-round TKO and then won the next 2-fights at WXF: X-Impact World Championships 2003. She compiled the record of three-three. Shevchenko was absent from MMA in order to concentrate on her kickboxing, and she made her comeback with Anissa Haddaoui at Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko beat Anissa through a unanimous decision, and then defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. She left the promotion in the year 2018 and joined Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko was matched against Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina knocked out Nievera using her striking skills that were superior at the end of the fight through knees to the body. Antonina Shevchenko received an UFC contract following this win. Antonina was offered an UFC contract following her victory. Shevchenko was victorious in the unanimous decision, but she fell in the second round to Roxanne Modafferi on an undisputed split decision. Antonina returned to the ring after the defeat and beat Lucie Pudddilova at UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submissions in the 2nd round. This fight earned Antonina the Bonus Fight of the Night. Shevchenko had a win in her first three bouts, but lost them to Katlyn Cahookagian, Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski.
